Invitée de Février : Lea Keeley

Lea Keeley is a singer/songwriter raised in Stratford, Ontario, based in Montreal for 13 years. Greatly influenced by artists like Janis Joplin, Joni Mitchell, Stevie Wonder, & Lauryn Hill, her sound uniquely blends R&B, folk, and soul music. Keeley is a powerhouse vocalist and multi-talented musician whose songs are empowering and honest; touching on the struggles of mental health, addiction, self-love, connection, and the profound power of Mother Nature. In 2019 she released her first album “Golden” and is now working on her next album to be released in 2024. Beyond her own music, Keeley has helped build safe spaces in the community for emerging artists by founding and curating her own open mic nights in parc Jeanne-Mance, as well as her own open mic Tuesdays at Turbo Haus. Keeley has proved herself to be a driving force in the music scene, helping heal others through her music.

JANUARY 2023

January Guest : Romain Malagnoux

Passionate about West African music, Romain Malagnoux, author, composer, singer and guitarist, undertook a 4-month trip to Mali in 2009 in order to discover the musical culture of this country and meet musicians with whom to exchange. Romain will create friendly and artistic links with the djeli n'goni player Moustafa Kouyaté with whom, during a second stay in Mali, he composes, records and produces the album "Les frontières imaginaires", (winner in 2014 of a Canadian Folk Music Award and an Independent Music Award - USA) in the company of Malian and Quebec musicians.

On stage, Romain presents a few songs from this album and his latest soul, folk and pop style compositions in English, French and Spanish.

The listener can be immersed in changing emotions: melancholy, joy, tenderness, passionate love... The variety and energy of the songs are reminiscent of some of the diverse cultures Romain has been exposed to over the years.

Close your eyes and let yourself be transported!

NOVEMBER 2022

November Guest: CÔNE ORANGE

Cône Orange is a modern music ensemble born in Montreal in 2021. Its compositions and arrangements of standard pieces mix a diverse range of sounds.

What does an orange cone do anyway? It redirects us from our intended path. That is the kind of experience people will get from their shows. Some expect jazz, others soul, but is it just those style that they're delving into?

No. They also bring bossa nova, funk, r&b….

But everything is smooth as hell, that’s for sure.
